June 9 -1 2  Space Explorers Camp
Get ready to go on a trip through the cosmos! In the SpaceTime Space Explorers Camp, explore outer space through a virtual journey into the final frontier. Around one corner, watch and create a meteor impact; around another, find out how The Solar System was formed. Get a sense of what life in space is really like with our Mission: Moon Base Virtual Adventure.  Ages: 6- to 12-years.  9:00am - 12:00pm.  $96 Resident, $100 Non-Resident.

June 16-20  Sailing the Solar System Camp
Set sail on an amazing journey through our solar neighborhood with SpaceTime Sailing the Solar System Camp. Go on a hands-on and minds-on adventure through the Solar System, where you’ll explore the moons of Jupiter and Saturn, search for signs of life on distant worlds, build your very own SpaceTime Cosmic
Cruisers, pilot a remote controlled planetary rover, hear the sounds of the Sun and much more. Be warned…you may get Space Slimed.  Ages: 6- to 12-years.  9:00am - 12:00pm.  $120 Resident, $125 Non-Resident.

July 21-25  Rockin’ Rockets Camp
If you like rockets, you’ll love SpaceTime Rockin’ Rockets Camp.  Over the course of five days, this camp will do just about everything there is to do with rockets -- short of riding one into space. Experience history from the earliest rockets built 2,000 years ago to the rockets being launched today, as well as going hands-on to learn some of the science behind how they fly. While learning, have SERIOUS COSMIC FUN building and launching three different kinds of rockets (to keep), blasting off fleets of rockets simultaneously, feeling the thrill of a human gravity assist, experiencing the speed of rocket flight in 3D, and much more.  Ages: 6- to 12-years.  9:00am - 12:00pm.  $120 Resident, $125 Non-Resident.

June 16 - 20  Sizzling Science: An Experimental Endeavor
One week-long day camp. Free your inner Einstein! Sizzling solar science. Creepy crawly science. Bubbling, bursting, building, and boiling. Floating, flying, ferocious, and fossilized. Animal, vegetable, or mineral? What will your awesome observations discover?  9:30 am - 3:30 pm.  Price: $150.00. 

June 23 - 27  Amazing Art: A Creative Endeavor
An art day camp. Let your creative juices flow as we express ourselves in a variety of media. Psyched to try sculpting? Wan to work with wood? Investigate an instrument? Illustrate your imagination? Endeavor with all your friends!  9:30 am - 3:30 pm.  $150.00.

June 30 - July 4  Hooray for the U.S.A.: An American Endeavor
A Patriotic day camp. Explore our states and our greats, our history and our mysteries, our people and our places, our traditions and our expeditions. Includes Golden's Independence Day celebration in Lion's Park (7/4/2008).  9:30 am - 3:30 pm.  $150.00.

July 7 - 18  Dynamic Drama: A Theatrical Endeavor
A drama day camp. This popular camp has been extended to two weeks as we examine acting and the stage, sets and costumes, comedy and vaudeville. The children will produce a fabulous musical play and perform it for the community (2:30 pm, 7/18/2008). Act now!  9:30 am - 3:30 pm.  $300.00. 

July 22 - 24  Bicycle Bearings: A Self-Propelled Endeavor
Roll on up! We will ride, repair, study, and appreciate that classic form of childhood enjoyment and transportation - the bicycle! KIDS MUST BE ABLE TO RIDE WITHOUT TRAINING WHEELS!! Bikes with multiple gears are recommended. Special Option: Ride in the Buffalo Bill Days Parade, Saturday, 7/26, 2008.  9:30 am - 3:30 pm.  $150.00.

July 28 - August 1  Curious Cultures: A Foreign Endeavor
A cultural day camp. When you hear "Vietnam," is war the first thing on your mind? Not after this endeavor! Learn about the beautiful, exotic cultures of Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, and the surrounding areas. Spark your interest in Asia at the Sloan's Lake Dragon Boat Festival, 7/26/2008 - 7/28/2008. See you there!  9:30 am - 3:30 pm.  $150.00.  

August 4 - 8  Mountain Masters: An Outdoor Endeavor
An outdoors day camp. Revel in the wonder of the great outdoors as we hike, fish, climb, explore, and enjoy our mountainous region. We invite you to end the summer with us on our (optional) Family Camping Trip following the week (8/8/2008 - 8/10/2008).  9:30 am - 3:30 pm.  $150.00.

Golden Sun Preschool Camp

Come join us for weekly fun. Plant a flower, paint a picture, hunt for creepy crawlies and so much more. We’ll run, hop and skip our way through the summer.  Your child will enjoy both indoor and outdoor activities. Registration is open via a lottery system and continues until the program is completely full.  Ages: 3- to 5-years.  8:30 - 11:30am, Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays OR 8:30 - 11:30am, Tuesdays and Thursdays.  $5 per hour.

July 12-17  Golden Jr. Engineers Club (JFLL Prep)
Class will begin by stating a challenge such as “where our energy comes from to power our house and how does it get to the house?” Work in teams using imagination to create from LEGO Dacta™ kits, design and build moving mini-fig sized models to solve these challenges. This will be a sampling of what it would be like to form your own Jr. FIRST LEGO League Team™, and compete in the Fall. Teams can be formed with schools, scout troops or just friends.  Ages: 7- to 14-years.  4:00 - 6:00 pm.  $79 Resident, $84 Non-resident.

Skyhawks Summer Sports Camps

The Golden Parks and Recreation Department has once again partnered with Skyhawks to offer a wide variety of camps for youth of Golden. Skyhawks will provide a safe and rewarding camp experience for each participant. Every Skyhawks coach must pass a coach’s license test and is certified in first aid.  Skyhawks summer sports camps offer baseball, lacrosse, flag football, volleyball, basketball, soccer, and multi-sport classes. Be sure to register a minimum of one week prior to camp commencement online at www.skyhawks.com or www.goldenrec.com.  Ages: 4- to 14-years.
