Meyer Hardware has a
great staff, people who really know their stuff
and who have worked there for years. You can walk in with a specific
problem, like "I want to put a polyurethane seal
on some new outdoor furniture." Instead of
wandering around long aisles by yourself, you can
ask someone immediately, who will hand you the
exact product you need, and you can be in and out in
three minutes.
Meyer Hardware is a fantastic asset for the City of Golden.
It has an excellent selection of products and the ability to special order most anything else you might need. In 21 years, often visiting a few times a week, I can only think of two times they did not have what I needed, or could not get it shortly. The staff is not only knowledgeable, but very friendly.
Frank Blaha, East Street
neighborhood
I went in and asked if they could possibly order
tweezers for a Swiss jackknife - and they brought out a box full!

This store makes its own nature-based
candles. Their designs incorporate visible
grasses and fruit slices, and the essential oils
they use in the candles smell wonderful.
The sign outside their store encourages you to
come in "for the smell of it," and it's well
worth it! They have a nice
web site, showing their candles and
explaining the process they use to make them.

Peak Cycles is one of three bike
shops serving Golden's thriving bicycling
community.
Pickets has garden-inspired art, for both
indoor and outdoor decorating. They have a courtyard behind the store that
contains architectural yard art, and the inside
of the shop has interesting garden-oriented
merchandise.
Several antique dealers offer
fascinating and unique items in this shop.
The merchandise changes constantly, but this is
a good place to look for antiques from Golden's
past!

Spirits in the Wind Gallery, a showcase for Premier Art of the New West changes exhibits and themes on a monthly basis. Yet it fits perfectly into the historic atmosphere of Golden, Colorado where Ute, Arapaho and Cheyenne tribes once roamed and where the Gold Rush of 1859 lured so many pioneers to the area that for a period of Colorado's history, Golden was the territorial capitol. Truly one of the Finest Western Galleries in Colorado.
They feature Premier Art of the New West by national and emerging artists. You will find exceptional jewelry and unique gifts for the discriminating buyer including pottery, sculpture, home decor and outdoor art.

The Silver Horse opened shortly
before Christmas, so many of us saw it for the
first time as we did our Christmas shopping.
What a cool store! It's equal to anything in Telluride, Aspen, or Jackson
Hole. They carry a lot of
interesting merchandise, with a western flare,
and the fireplace makes it a welcoming place to shop.
